With iOS 5 came a new way to customize the way your device would notify you. With the new banners option, a new obtrusive notification was born but unfortunately sometimes it can be a little too long or get just enough in the way to be a bother. Well we’ll show you a little trick to get rid of it quickly.

• For demo purposes, send yourself a text/iMessage
• When the banner comes up, swipe down as if you were trying to access the Notification Center but quickly throw it back up

If done correctly the notification will go away with it.

We’ve definitely found it using in Safari seeing how the banner covers most of the address bar.
