UPS tracking in Mac OS X Lion

I recently bought an item that was going to be delivered via UPS and I noticed in the conformation email that the tracking number was able to be Previewed like a webpage.

Check out the video demo at the bottom.

This was done on a Mac running OS X Lion using the default Mail application.

  • Locate the UPS tracking number
  • Hover your mouse over it for a second
  • Click the drop-down arrow
  • Select “Track Shipment”
  • A preview window will launch showing you the details

Obviously this is great since most of us don’t feel like opening a web browser, going to UPS.com and manually copying and pasting the number.
