Anandtech has noted that the next generation of Intel’s CPUS, called Ivy Bridge”, will be able to bring Core i7 quad-core technology into the 13″ MacBook Pro.
So why then? Well at the moment the 15″ and 17″ MacBook Pros use a 45W Sandy Bridge CPU while the MacBook Pro, due its size, only draw 35W. Of course, the result it that the 13″ MBP users are stuck with dual-core instead of quad-core.
Ivy Bridge is expected to be released in 2012 possibly alongside a redesigned MacBook Pro.
