Cinemax has released a new app that will allow access to shows and movies currently playing on its TV version. It has many similar features to the HBO Go app which also allows access to shows on the go but the difference is that Cinemax has some late night shows that are deemed inappropriate by Apple‘s standard (porn) and it can be accessed via their App Store approved app.
Steve Jobs publicly said that there would be no porn or access to porn via the App Store but it seems this may have slipped under the radar. Gigaom points out what Steve Jobs said:
You know, there’s a porn store for Android. You can download nothing but porn. You can download porn, your kids can download porn. That’s a place we don’t want to go – so we’re not going to go there.
If you’re a fan of “Max After Dark” on Skinemax then I’d say get your fair share of iPad viewing before Apple forces this one down.
