A Japanese site named Kodawarisan is claiming that Apple will be throwing its annual media event on September 7th. They state that it isn’t speculation but information from an actual source.

Normally this event is to announce iPod refreshes and iTunes related products, but this year many are anticipating the announcement of the iPhone 5 and possibly an iPad 3.

Many believe that the iPhone 5 will have redesigned hardware and has been confirmed to be on track for a September shipment from China. Another report also claims that it will be on sale starting early October.

The iPad 3 would be a perfect “one more thing” announcement and is rumored to be packed with a Retina Display.
