Patently Apple is reporting that Apple has been granted a patent that describes an iPad 1 with an extra dock connector for landscape connectivity.
Credits for the patent:
CEO Steve Jobs, VP Industrial Design Jonathan Ive and team members Jody Akana, Bartley Andre, Daniel Coster, Daniele De Iuliis, Evans Hankey, Richard Howarth, Duncan Kerr, Shin Nishibori, Matthew Dean Rohrbach, Peter Russell-Clarke, Christopher Stringer, Eugene Whang and Rico Zorkendorfer
An interested time to win a patent seeing as the iPad 1 is almost completely phased out.
Many believed a second dock connector would be on the iPad 2, this shows that Apple may still have it in the iPad roadmap or that they’ve completely trashed the idea all together.
