IDC has released a report detailing the top companies in the mobile worldwide market for Q1 2011.
The chart above shows the top five companies and total shipments, they are:
- Nokia – 108.5 million
- Samsung – 70 million
- LG – 24.5 million
- Apple – 18.7 million
- ZTE – 15.1 million
Nokia and LG are the only two who are suffering a loss of market share from the previous years report.
The report claims that Apple had the highest growth rate of the top five leaders. The growth was bumped up thanks to the Verizon iPhone 4 and other carrier deals worldwide. Apple’s market share nearly doubled from 2.8% in 2010 to 5% in 2011.
With the release of the white iPhone 4, expect a minor sales bumped and with the iPhone 5 coming, expect another record setting year for Apple.
