As you’re most likely aware, Japan has suffered a 8.9 earthquake followed by a devastating tsunami. Nuclear reactors are exploding and it’s hard to describe the amount of chaos that is happening there. It only seems right that Apple not focus on new product launches but to the safety of its team and people there, which is exactly what’s happening.

The iPad 2 was scheduled to launch on March 25 in Japan but Apple spokesperson Natalie Kerris has stated the following:

We are delaying the launch of iPad 2 in Japan, while the country and our teams focus on recovering from the recent disaster

Apple is reportedly helping anyone they can by allowing them to take shelter and use the Apple retail resources such as the internet, chargers and more as they try struggle to maintain order in some areas.

If you can help out, I’m sure many could use it.
